FAIRBORN, Ohio - Eastern Illinois men's soccer fell 2-0 at Wright State Tuesday night. The Panthers are now 2-3-2 on the season while the Raiders improve to 5-0-1 and extend their win streak to three games.
Wright State set the pace of the match early taking eight shots in the first half of play to EIU's three. The Raiders finished with 12 total shots, while the Panthers recorded only five. Deri Corfe and Alec Philippe led both teams with four shots each. Both finished with two on goal.
Jake Andrews led the Panthers with two shots and one on goal.
Jackson Dietrich scored his first goal of the season and the game winner for the Raiders on a free kick 13 minutes into the match. Corfe scored WSU's second goal in the 57th minute on a penalty kick.
Jonathan Burke played 90 minutes in the net making three stops and allowing both goals. Joel Sundell earned the shutout with two saves in goal for Wright State.
The Panthers will be back in action at home Friday Sept. 21. Start time is set for 4 pm vs. Northern Illinois.
