CHARLESTON, IL - The EIU Panthers lost their first match of the week 2-0 against the Panthers of Milwaukee. Eastern's offense struggled to pressure the defense of Milwaukee, only managing a total of six shots. EIU's record falls to 4-7-1 on the season, while Milwaukee moves to 6-6-1.

The EIU Panthers defended Milwaukee well during the match, despite the final score. Milwaukee took 20 shots during the match, but Eastern didn't give them an inch. Edgar Mesa, Delphy Sabu and Quinn Rechner all played solid defense during the match. Rechner and Mesa both played the entire match and were anchors defensively. Goalkeeper Jonathan Burke also played well; netting five saves for the match.

The Panthers of EIU came up short on the offensive end of the pitch. Eastern struggled to create shots and pressure Milwaukee's goalkeeper, with only one of the shots being on goal. EIU only took two shots in the second half and spent the majority of it on the defensive end. Dario Kurmann led the team in shot attempts with two; Maxwell Allen accounted for the lone shot on goal.

The Panthers will look to bounce back against Summit League rival, Omaha. The match will be held at Lakeside Field Saturday, Oct. 19 at 12 pm.
