MOREHEAD, KY. – After being home last weekend, the Eastern Illinois volleyball team took to the road again looking to build momentum. The Panthers lost to Morehead State in straight sets (15-25, 9-25, 19-25).

In the first set the Eagles got out to a fast start going on quick 5-1 run to take the lead early. Late in the set the Panthers go on a 6-0 run to pull EIU back within seven points. Morehead went on to score four of the last five points to move pas the Panthers in set one by ten points.

The Panthers got off to a rough start in the second set as the Eagles claim 13 of the first 16 points. The panthers tried to rally back and get back into the set but they never could find the right rhythm and lose set two 25-9.
In set three More head got out to a fast start like they did in the first two sets. The Panthers fought back in the middle of the set to bring the score within two points. EIU keeps it close the rest of the set but were unable to take set three and push the match to anther set and the Eagles take the final set and match.

The Panthers were led by
Maggie Runge with six kills and added four blocks.
Bailey Chandler led the team is assists with 18 and
Sarah Paluch had 14 digs.

The Panthers are back in action tomorrow (Oct. 26) to take on Eastern Kentucky at 1 p.m.
