MACOMB, IL - The Panthers lost today's match versus the red-hot Leathernecks of Western Illinois. EIU drops their fourth in a row, while WIU picks up their fourth win in a row. The Panthers still remain hopeful for the fourth spot in The Summit League, as they haven't fallen out of contention for the postseason yet. The Panthers record falls to 4-8-2 (0-2-2 in conference matches), while WIU improves to 4-11 (3-1 in conference matches).
The Panthers found some upside in their efforts on Saturday, scoring their first goal in conference play this season.
Davi Girardi scored for the Panthers in the 70th minute of play. The goal came off an assist from
Cameron Behm, his fourth of the season.

Jonas Castelhano and Behm were the other Panthers to take shots on the day. Girardi took a season high six shots in the match. The Panthers took 14 shots during the match.
Jonathan Burke and the defense played well against a streaking Leathernecks offense. Burke managed a total of six saves on the match and faced 15 shots, eight of which were on goal.
Eastern has one more Summit League match-up versus Purdue Fort Wayne next Saturday at 5 p.m. The Panthers will then finish out their regular season against Green Bay on Tuesday, November 5th.
