CHARLESTON, Illinois - The Panthers put out a great effort, but inevitably fell to the Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts on EIU's senior day. The Panthers had a difficult time against the no. 1 team in the Summit League, only managing to take two shots in the matches entirety. The Panthers fall to 4-5-1 on the season, while Oral Roberts moves to 9-1, making their win streak seven in a row.

The Panthers defense did a phenomenal job against the Golden Eagles, despite losing the match. EIU held them to 14 shots, two less than they are averaging per match. The defensive line gave up eight shots on goal, with goalkeeper Jonathan Burke stopping six. Edgar Mesa and Quinn Rechner both played stellar defense for the full 90 minutes.

The men came up short on offense, never getting the shot that they were looking for against a fast Golden Eagles team. Jonas Castelhano and Davi Girardi each took a shot for the Panthers, with Girardi's being on goal. Unfortunately for the Panthers, they were not able to capitalize on the shot attempts.

Five seniors were honored today for their hands in the success of the men's soccer program. Matheus Santos, Cole Harkrader, Alex Casteneda, Christian Sosnowski and Mesa were all celebrated before the start of the match. Each Panther was joined by friends, family and teammates.

The Panthers will travel to DeKalb, Illinois next Tuesday to take on the NIU Huskies at 6 pm for their only match of the week.
