Box Score

DEKALB, IL - The Panthers were defeated by the Huskies of Northern Illinois 4-1 on Tuesday night; dropping EIU's record to 4-6-1 for the season, while NIU improves to 5-6-1. The Panthers got off to a tough start on defense in the first half giving up four goals.

The Huskies scored two goals in the first two minutes of play. The Panthers returned fire with a goal of their own from Shady Omar in the 2nd minute of the match. Omar's goal came off an assist from Nate Francke. There were three goals scored in the first three minutes of the match. While the Panthers cooled down on offense, NIU stayed hot and notched two more goals in the first half, one in the 14th minute and one in the 20th.

EIU went into half down 4-1 and were never able to get back within striking distance. The Panthers didn't quit however, taking eight shots in the second half alone, three of which were on goal. The Huskies goalkeeper was able to stop the Panthers offensive onslaught, and EIU wasn't able to recover. EIU goalkeeper Jonathan Burke was able to stop three shots, but the accuracy of NIU was overwhelming.

The Panthers will return to play next week Tuesday, Oct. 15. The team will face Milwaukee at Lakeside Field at 3 pm
