CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois women's soccer closed out its best weekend of offensive soccer this season as the Panthers picked up a 3-0 win over Morehead State on Sunday afternoon at Lakeside Field.

EIU improved to 3-7-1 overall, 2-3-1 in the OVC.  Morehead State fell to 4-8-1 overall, 2-2-1 in the OVC.

Both teams applied offensive pressure early in the match as both EIU and MSU looked to get an early advantage in the contest.  EIU goalkeeper Sara Teteak made three saves in the opening period as Morehead State had seven corners in the opening half.  Morehead State had one additional chance go off the cross bar on a shot by Eva Kiper in the 11th minute.

EIU had three offsides called in the opening 15 minutes including one that wiped a goal off the board that was headed home by Pilar Barrio in the fifth minute.

EIU's offensive pressure finally paid off just before halftime as Angela Corcoran took a pass from Eva Munoz and fired a high shot towards the goal.  The ball slipped over the hands of the MSU goalkeeper to put the Panthers up 1-0 in the 43rd minute.

EIU continued the attack just after that goal as they grabbed a free ball at midfield and quickly played it towards the net.  Itxaso Aguero played it through to Barrio who finished off a one-time shot for the goal just 26 seconds after the Panthers opening goal.

The Panthers would finish off the offensive attack in the opening ten minutes of the second half as Sarah DeWolf slipped a shot under a diving goalkeeper for the third tally.  Barrio picked up the assist on the goal.

Teteak would turn away one shot on goal in the second half as she posted her second shutout of the season.  It was 15th career shutout for Teteak who moved into second on the Panthers career shutouts list.
