2020 EIU Softball Schedule

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois head coach Tara Archibald has released the Panthers 2020 schedule as the first-year head coach will have the Panthers at home for ten games at Williams Field this spring.
 
EIU will open the 2020 season on the road playing in five straight on-campus tournaments.   The season begins on Feb. 7 in the Samford Bulldog Tournament with the season opener against Akron.  EIU will also face host Samford and Winthrop in the field.   EIU then returns back to Alabama the following week to play in the Troy Trojans Tournament on Feb. 15-16.  Opponents in that event include Troy, Kennesaw State, Purdue Fort Wayne and Southern Miss.
 
The Panthers travel to the Gardner-Webb Tournament in week three to face Northern Kentucky, Gardner-Webb and Mount St. Mary's (Md.) on Feb. 21-23.   EIU will visit Southeastern Conference member Georgia to close out February at the Bulldog Classic.  EIU will play Georgia, Western Carolina and Boston College.  The final on-campus tournament keeps the Panthers in the Midwest at the Miami (Ohio) Tournament on March 7-8 playing Miami and Green Bay.
 
EIU will play in The Spring Games as part of EIU's spring break trip this year in Longwood, Fla.  EIU will be in action March 13-17 with seven games against six different opponents.
 
Ohio Valley Conference play will begin at home this season with EIU hosting Southeast Missouri on March 21.  EIU will also host OVC doubleheaders against Tennessee Tech (March 28), Jacksonville State (March 29), Morehead State (April 18) and Eastern Kentucky (April 19). 
 
EIU's road OVC games will take them to Murray State, Austin Peay, UT Martin, Belmont, Tennessee State and SIUE.  EIU will have midweek non-conference road games at Indiana State (April 1), Illinois (April 15) and IUPUI (April 29). 
 
This year's Ohio Valley Conference Tournament will be played in Oxford, Ala., from May 6-9.
