Eastern Illinois softball assistant coach Carly Willert was named this year's Geri Ann Glasco Rising Star Award Winner presented by Swivel Vision.  The award is presented to a softball head or assistant coach that is one of the up and coming stars in the coaching profession.

Willert is in her fourth season as an assistant coach on the Panthers staff having helped coach two All-Region performers along with multiple All-OVC selections.  Willert has coached eight players that rank in the EIU career top ten for offensive categories with the Panthers.

Other finalists for the award this year are Jamie Allred, assistant coach at North Texas, and Brittney Horan, assistant coach at Northwood University.

The award was presented in early December.
