The Eastern Illinois men's tennis team opened a weekend trip in the Chicagoland area on Friday afternoon losing 6-1 at Valparaiso. EIU fell to 6-5 on the season while Valpo improved to 4-1.
Daniel Hernandez picked up the lone point of the afternoon for the Panthers with his win at number three singles. Hernandez beat Brian Pecyna in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 10-6.
Playing at number six singles
Braden Davis would push his match to three sets before falling to Nick Marino 6-4, 4-6, 10-7.
The Panthers would win one of the three matches in singles play with
Logan Charbonneau and
Freddie O'Brien winning 6-1 at the number three slot.
EIU returns to action on Sunday at UIC.
