The Eastern Illinois women's tennis team evened their record at 4-4 on the season as the Panthers opened a weekend trip to Milwaukee with a Friday afternoon win over Cardinal Stritch.  EIU won 5-4 in the match that included each doubles match as a single point for scoring.

The Panthers secured one point in doubles play as
Rachel Papavasilopoulos and
Srishti Slaria improved to 7-0 this season in doubles play with a 8-4 win at number one doubles.

Both players continued that solid play over into singles action winning in straight sets. Papavasilopoulos won 6-2, 6-0 over Assya Trimari at number one singles. Slaria won 6-2, 6-1 over Lisa Keller at number two singles staking the Panthers to a 3-2 lead in the match.

Claire Martin would win the fourth point of the day for the EIU women at number four singles with her 6-4, 6-2 victory over Luise Gruber.

Karla Contreras then clinched the match for the Panthers with her straight set win at number singles. Cardinal Stritch would win the final match of the day at number three singles.

EIU will play at Milwaukee on Saturday afternoon.
