PARK FOREST, Ill. – Eastern Illinois men's tennis wrapped up a successful weekend on Sunday as the Panthers swept Purdue Northwest 7-0 to improve their record to 3-2 on the season.
EIU jumped out to a 1-0 lead winning the doubles point. The Panthers clinched the point winning at the number two and number three spots in the line-up.
The Panthers then swept all six singles matches with all six EIU players winning in straight sets.
Freddie O'Brien won at number one singles by a score of 6-4, 6-3.Â
Mike Jansen was victorious at number two singles winning 6-4, 6-4.
Gage Kingsmith needed a tie-break win in the first set to win at number three singles 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.Â
Daniel Hernandez won at number four singles 6-4, 6-3.
In the final two spots in the line-up
Logan Charbonneau and
Braden Davis both picked up wins. Charbonneau won 6-1, 6-4. Davis won 6-1, 6-3.
