COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois men's tennis opened its weekend trip to Tennessee and Alabama on Saturday afternoon dropping a 7-0 Ohio Valley Conference match at Tennessee Tech.

EIU fell to 10-12 overall, 0-2 in the OVC. The Panthers will play a non-conference match on Sunday at Alabama A&M. TTU is now 5-14 overall, 1-1 in the OVC.

TTU was able to capture the doubles point with wins at number one and number two doubles. Playing at number three doubles,
Freddie O'Brien and
Logan Charbonneau were tied at 5-5 when the Golden Eagles clinched the doubles point leaving their match unfinished.

TTU then won all six singles points winning all of matches in straight sets.Â
Mike Jansen was forced to retire playing at number two singles against Carlos Vicente training 6-2, 2-0 in the second set.

O'Brien battled in the first set at number one singles against Rafael Tosetto losing 7-5 before falling 6-2 in the second set.Â
