EIU vs. Alabama A&M Box Score

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Eastern Illinois men's tennis rallied to win the final two singles points on Sunday afternoon as the Panthers edged Alabama A&M, 4-3, in a non-conference match.
 
EIU improved to 11-12 overall.  Alabama A&M fell to 7-7.
 
Trailing 3-2 in the match EIU rallied to win the final two singles points.  Freddie O'Brien evened the match at 3-3 with his win at number one singles. O'Brien beat Hsiang Yi Wang 6-3, 6-3.
 
Daniel Hernandez then picked up the match deciding point with his win at number three singles after the Panthers had to shift up their line-up for positions two through six due to an injury.  Hernandez battled to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 over Fermin Ruiz Gespo to give EIU the position and overall match win.
 
Hernandez was also instrumental in the Panthers winning the doubles point as he teamed with Gage Kingsmith at number two doubles to win 7-5 which handed EIU the overall doubles win. EIU lost the first doubles match at number one before O'Brien and Logan Charbonneau won 6-3 at number three doubles.
 
Charbonneau added a point for the Panthers with a win at number five singles beating Rodrigo Arana Rios, 6-3, 6-2.
