EIU vs. Chicago State
Eastern Illinois women's tennis had its four match win streak snapped on Friday evening as the Panthers lost 4-3 to Chicago State. EIU fell to 7-5 overall and will play Detroit Mercy on Saturday.
Both teams won a match in doubles play as the Panthers won at number one doubles and Chicago State won at number two doubles. CSU would take the point by default at number three doubles.
CSU would pick up an additional point at number six singles as the Panthers had just five players available in the match.
EIU would win three points in singles play with
Rachel Papavasilopoulos winning 6-0, 6-0 at number one singles.
Abby Carpenter would win at number three singles with a three set win over Kristina Pukhaeva, 2-6, 7-5, 6-3.
Karla Contreras had the final point for EIU winning 6-2, 7-5 at number five singles.
