The Eastern Illinois baseball team took on UT Martin in a rubber match on Sunday afternoon.  UT Martin was able to take the series with a 4-1 win over EIU.
 
With the loss, EIU drops to 21-23 (11-13 OVC).
 
UT Martin was able to load the bases in the top of the fourth inning. The
Skyhawks were able to get on the board when Billy Edwards grounded out to Jimmy Govern to drive in the first run of the game.
 
Keith Kerrigan would tie the game for the Panthers in the bottom of the fourth inning when he scored on a throwing error by Winston Cannon.
 
Shawn Dixson was able to score after hitting a triple in the top of the seventh inning to give UT Martin a one run lead. Edwards would drive in the third run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the eighth, while Casey Harford would drive in the fourth run in the ninth with a single up the middle.
 
Will Klein suffered the loss on the hill for the Panthers, dropping to 1-1 this season. Klein tossed 3.1 innings with three strikeouts.
