The Eastern Illinois baseball team wrapped up their conference series against Austin Peay on Sunday.

With the loss, EIU drops to 24-27 and 13-17 in the OVC.

The Panthers would get on the board first in the bottom of the first inning when
Christian Pena would score on a
Ryan Knernschield fielder's choice.

The Governors would answer back in the top of the third inning, scoring four runs. Aaron Campbell would drive in the first run of the inning for Austin Peay with a one-run double to left field. David Martinez would hit a three run homer later in the inning to give the Governors a 4-1 lead. Malcolm Tippler would hit a blooper that would fall in left field to score Matt Joslin.

Knernschield would earn his second RBI on the afternoon with a one-run double down the left field line in the bottom of the third inning.

The Governors would score their sixth run of the game in the top of the fifth inning on a throwing error by
Trey Sweeney.

Tyler Tesmond would drive a solo homer to left field in the bottom of the seventh inning to cut the lead down to 6-3.

The Governors were able to secure the series sweep defeating the Panthers 6-3.

EIU will play host to Butler on Tuesday May 14th for the final time at Coaches Stadium in the 2019 season.
