Former Panthers Complete Pro Basketball Seasons

EIU men's basketball has seven program alumni active in pro basketball

Eastern Illinois men's basketball had several former players that competed in professional leagues abroad during the recent season including Muusa Dama who won the All-Star Slam Dunk Contest in Portugal.  Dama was one of seven former Panthers that were in action playing professionally.
 
Dama played his first season in the Portugal Basketball League as a member of Galitos Barrciro.  Dama averaged 14. 1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game for the team.  As a rookie he won the Slam Dunk Contest at the Portugal LPB All-Star game.
 
Tyler Laser continued his professional career overseas as he played in the Germany Pro A League this past season.  Laser averaged 15.1 points and 6.4 assists per game while knocking down 55 3-pointers as a member of the Walter Tigers Tuebingen team.
 
Chris Olivier played in the Japanese Professional League as a member of the Tokyo Cing Reves club.  Olivier averaged a double-double for the season finishing the year at 25.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.
 
Aleksa Novakovic continued his professional career playing in Serbia for the KK Mladone 2 Admiral Zemon team.  Novakovic averaged 14 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
 
Montell Goodwin played a portion of the season in Slovakia with MBK Handlova.  In just 11 games, Goodwin averaged 8.7 points per game.  He was 11-of-11 from the free throw line.
 
Ray Crossland began his professional career in Qatar playing for the Al Arabi Club Doha. 
 
Former EIU basketball player Alfonso McKinnie is currently playing in the NBA Finals with the Golden State Warriors.  McKinnie began his career at EIU before transferring and finishing at Green Bay.  He has played in 72 games this season averaging 4.7 points per game.
