The Eastern Illinois baseball team played their second game of their conference series at SIUE today. SIUE was able to split the series defeating EIU 3-1.
 
The Panthers kicked off the scoring column in the top of the second inning when Trey Sweeney would drive in the first run of the game with a single to left.
 
SIUE would take the lead in the bottom of the third inning when Peyton Cordova-Smith would hit a two-run single to center. The Cougars would add another run in the bottom of the fifth when Brendan Ryan would score on a passed ball.
 
Kenny Serwa was able to pick up his third win of the season on the mound for SIUE. Serwa tossed a complete game with seven strikeouts.
 
Spenser Dexter suffered his third loss of the season dropping to 3-3 on the season for EIU. Dexter tossed 2.1 innings with one strikeout.
 
The Panthers and Cougars will wrap up their series tomorrow afternoon at 1 pm.
