EVANSTON, Illinois - The Eastern Illinois men's soccer team lost their match on Sunday afternoon 1-0 to Northwestern as the Panthers split the weekend following a 1-0 win on Friday evening at Bradley.
The Panthers record falls to 2-4 while the Wildcats sit at 3-3. It was a hard fought match with the total number of fouls hitting 20, including two yellow cards on each team.
The Panthers were limited to two shots in the match with neither being on goal.
Davi Girardi and
Jonas Castelhano each took a shot during the match. The lone goal of the game was scored by Northwestern's Bardia Kimiavi at the 70th minute.
Starting goalkeeper
Jonathan Burke faced seven shots and had three saves on the game.
The Panthers will return to Lakeside Field next Tuesday, Sept. 24 to start off conference play against the Belmont Bears.
