CINCINNATI – Xavier used an aggressive offensive attack on Monday evening as the Musketeers beat visiting Eastern Illinois, 3-0, in men's soccer action.

EIU fell to 0-2 on the season and will play Ohio State on Sunday in a neutral site match. Xavier improved to 2-0 notching their second straight shutout.

Jonathan Burke was able to make two first half saves before Felix Boe-Tangen was able to find the back of the net with five minutes remaining in the half. Noah Boffo was credited with the assist, one of two he would have on the night.

The Musketeers doubled their offensive efforts in the second half with 12 shot attempts. Samson Sergi scored a pair of goals five minutes apart scoring in the 68th and 73rd minute.
