MARTIN, Tenn. – Senior goalkeeper
Sara Teteak turned away 16 UT Martin shots on Friday evening as Eastern Illinois opened the Ohio Valley Conference women's soccer season with 0-0 tie.
EIU moved to 1-4-1 on the year, 0-0-1 in the OVC. UT Martin is now 2-3-4 on the season and 0-0-1 in the OVC. The Panthers will play on Sunday afternoon at Southeast Missouri.
Teteak faced 16 Skyhawks shots on goal, turning them all away as she posted her first shutout of the season. It was the 16th career shutout for Teteak as she moved into a tie for second on the EIU career shutouts list.
UT Martin goalkeeper Erica Meyers stopped all three shots by the Panthers.Â
Nicoletta Anuci had two shots for EIU while
Sarah DeWolf added the other.
Alice Adams, Hendrikje Baurmann and Blare Gerido all had three shots on goal for UTM as they finished with a 31-10 total shots advantage.
