MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee scored four goals over a span of seven minutes as the host Panthers beat the visiting Panthers from Eastern Illinois, 5-2, on Friday night.

EIU fell to 0-3 on the season and will host Purdue Fort Wayne at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Lakeside Field for the home opener.  Milwaukee improved to 4-1.

Milwaukee scored an early goal when Haley Johnson found the back of the net at the 3:27 mark with an assist from Julia Barajas.

EIU evened the match at 1-1 with a goal by
Lexi Ketterhagen. The assist came from freshman
Nicoletta Anuci in the 8th minute as the two teams went to the half tied.

Milwaukee increased the offensive attack in the second half as they finished the match with a 32-3 shot advantage including 15 shots on goal.Â
Sara Teteak finished with ten saves for EIU.

McKaela Schmelzer broke the 1-1 tie in the 49th minute which began a quick offensive spurt by Milwaukee. Gaby Schmitz converted a penalty kick in the 51st minute to make it a 3-1 match. Jelena Sever (54th minute) and Haley Johnson (56th) ended the Milwaukee spurt.
