Eastern Illinois women's tennis moved to 4-1 on the season as the Panthers split their squad on Sunday to pick up wins over Grambling State (6-1) and Mississippi Valley State (4-0).

EIU opened the day with a 6-1 win at Grambling State. The Panthers took all three doubles matches to open with the first point.Â
Rachel Papavasilopoulos improved to 3-0 on the year at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Imperia Martinez.Â
Elizaveta Bukraba-Ulanova won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.Â

Brittany Steven and
Shaianne Looney closed out the match for the Panthers winning at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 singles. Contreras won 6-3, 6-2. Steven won 6-2, 6-1. Looney collected a 6-2, 7-5 win.
In the night cap EIU beat Mississippi Valley State 4-0 as the two teams started with singles play with the match played to clinch. EIU was able to easily do that with wins in the top four singles positions.Â

Christine Gouws started the action winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.Â
Lauren Ellis and
Kaitlyn Snyder also added 6-0, 6-0 wins playing at No. 3 and No. 4 singles.Â
Esa Kavtaradez closed out the win at No. 2 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
