Eastern Illinois head swim coach
Evan Sholudko continues to build the Panthers roster with the announcement of six new swimmers to the program. Elizabeth Bonnell will join the women's team in 2020-21 while Miguel Turcios, Ryan Rosal, Marshall Holt, Jackson Penny and Josh Hoh will all be added to the men's roster.
This group joins previously announced newcomers Brevin Bartsh and Charlie Stewart (men's team) along with Camryn Lewis, Kennedy Darensbourg, Mia Griffiths, Phoebe Croston, Emma Cox, Cydney Adams, Emma Keith, Ryleigh Poe and Abbie Wydra (women's team).
Elizabeth Bonnell attended Mariemont High School in Cincinnati, Ohio and specializes in the back stroke and the free style. At the OH MAKO Senior Circuit she placed 16th in the 400 free. Her best times are 59.70 in the 200 back, 5:16.20 in the 500 free, 2:12.70 in the 200 back and 55.70 in the 100 free.
Miguel Turcios attended Canterbury School in St. Petersburg, Fla. He specializes in the individual medley and the back stroke. His personal best times are 1:54.10 in the 200 IM, 52.90 in the 100 back, and 59.30 in the breast.
Ryan Rosal attended Countryside High School in Clearwater, Fla. His specializes is the butterfly and the individual medley. At the Florida CAT Al Soltis Memorial Senior Meet he placed fifth in the 200 breast, seventh in the 100 fly, first in the 200 fly and fifth in the 200 IM. In the 200 fly his best time was 1:53.20, in the 400 IM - 4:08.70, in the 200 IM - 1:55.90 and in the 100 breast - 59.30.
Jackson Penny attended Decorah Community High School in Decorah, Iowa. He specializes in the breast stroke and in the individual medley. At the Iowa Swimming Senior Championships he placed eighth in the 200 breast and eighth in the 200 IM. In the 200 IM his best time was 1:58.90, in the 100 breast - 1:01.20 and in the 200 breast - 2:13.40.
Marshall Holt, from Shorewood, Ill., attended Joliet West High School. He specializes in the breast stroke and the free style. At the ISHA Sectional Championships he placed fourth in the 200 IM and sixth in the 100 breast. In the 100 breast stroke his best time was 59.60, in the 200 breast - 2:09.80, in the 200 IM - 2:00.50 and in the 50 free - 21.70.
Josh Hoh, a native of Charleston attended Charleston High School. He is a sprint free specialist who placed first in the 100 free and fourth in the 50 free at the ISHA Sectional Championships. His personal best in the 100 free was 48.90, in the 50 free - 22.60 and in the 100 back - 56.6.
