Five members of the Eastern Illinois swimming team have been named to the Summit League Swim and Dive Academic All-League team, as announced by the conference on Wednesday morning.
Those honored include Genevieve Biberdorf and Corinne Staneart from the women's team, and Dismas Dillon, Andrew Herman, and Nolan Wallace from the men's team.

This year's Academic All-League team included a total of 35 student-athletes, including 18 women and 17 men.

To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average if at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), have completed at least one full academic year at their current institution, and participated in at least 50 percent of their team's competitions.

Nominations are made by the athletic communications directors from the league's seven institutions that compete in swimming and diving, and voting is conducted by both the athletic communications directors and faculty athletic representatives (FARs).

In the pool, Corinne Staneart posted a pair of school-records this season in the 100 IM (57.70) and 400 IM (4:26.77), while Genevieve Biberdorf recorded a 200 breast time of 2:20.99, which is the third fastest mark in program history.

Meanwhile, Dismas Dillon took bronze in the 100 free at the Summit League Championships with a school-record time of 44.35, while also setting a school-record in the 50 free (20.24).

Andrew Herman posted a pair of EIU all-time top 10 times in the 100 back (50.65) and 200 breast (2:06.39), and helped set school records in the 200 medley relay (1:30.24) and 400 medley relay (3:22.01).

Nolan Wallace also contributed to the school-record 200 and 400 medley relay teams while recording an EIU all-time second-best time of 56.02 in the 100 breast.

In addition, Wallace was named Summit League Scholar of the Championships in February for having the highest cumulative grade point average among all men's swimmers and divers in the conference.
