Men's Track Adds 15 To 2020-21 Roster

Panthers class includes 30 state championship appearances

Eastern Illinois head track & field coach Brenton Emanuel has announced the addition of 15 new student-athletes that will join the men's team for the 2020-21 season.  The EIU men's team has won the last two Ohio Valley Conference Track Championships (2020 Indoor & 2019 Outdoor) with Emanuel named the OVC Coach of the Year on both occasions.  The incoming class includes 12 athletes from the state of Illinois with a combined 31 state championship event appearances and six state titles.

Jason Aguilar (Wheeling, Ill. – Wheeling HS) – Competed in track at Wheeling HS… ran the hurdles in high school competing in the IHSA Class 3A Niles Sectional in the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles as a junior… was second in the 300m hurdles at the Mid-Suburban League Championships with a time of 41.43… season best 110m time was 15.73 at the Niles Sectional…

Bo Braunecker (Charlestown, Ind. – Charlestown HS) – Competed in track at Charlestown HS… competed in throws advancing to the Bloomington North Indiana State Regional in the shot put and discus as a sophomore after placing in the top three in both events in the Jeffersonville Sectional… as a junior had a season best discus mark of 137'11" while season best shot put mark as a junior was 40'5.50"…

Michael Dietz (Neoga, Ill. – Neoga HS) – Competed in track at nearby Neoga HS… competed primarily in the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdle events along with pole vault… cleared a season best pole vault height of 12'3" during junior season… season best 300m hurdle time during junior season was 46.78 while season best 110m hurdle time was 18.44…

Matthew Gladieux (Archbold, Ohio – Archbold HS) – Competed in track at Archbold HS… competed in throws finishing seventh at the OATCCC D2/D3 Indoor State Championships in the shot put as a senior with a throw of 51'5.75"… won the Midwest Indoor Track & Field Championships shotput event as a senior with a season best throw of 53'1.75"… as a junior advanced to the Ohio D2 Regionals in both the shot put and discus as a junior… season best shot put mark as a junior was 50'5.50" while season best discus mark as a junior was 158'3"…

Ramsey Hunt (Oakland, Ill. – Shiloh HS) – Competed in track at Shiloh HS… was the IHSA Class 1A State Champion in the triple jump as a junior while advancing to the state meet in four events… won the triple jump with a finals mark of 46'3.25"… added state finals appearances in the long jump, high jump and 300 meter hurdles… placed sixth at the state meet in the long jump with a finals mark of 21'11"… season best 300m hurdle time was 41.22 while clearing a season best height of 6'3" in the high jump… placed third at the IHSA Class 1A State Championships in the long jump and triple jump as a sophomore while also advancing to the state finals in the triple jump as a freshman… won the Illinois Top Times 1A Indoor Championship triple jump as a sophomore while placing second as a junior…

Brailyn Johnson (Chicago, Ill. – St. Laurence HS) – Competed in track at St. Laurence HS… competed in sprints advancing to the IHSA Class 2A State Championships in the 100 meter dash and as a member of the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams during junior season… finished sixth at state meet in the 100m with a finals time of 11.04 after running a prelim time of 10.96… won the Clark Sectional with a time of 11.16… also reached state meet in the 100m, 4x100 and 4x200 relay as a sophomore running opening leg on fourth place team in the 4x100 relay team at the IHSA Championships… during summer of senior year was second in the 100m at the Chicago Sprints and Jumps Meet…

Caleb Lenoir (Homewood, Ill. – Homewood-Flossmoor HS) – Competed in track at Homewood-Flossmoor HS… ran sprints advancing to the IHSA Class 3A State Championships as a junior as a member of the 4x400 relay team… ran opening leg as team had a bronze medal finish in the finals with a time of 3:20.62… helped team finish as the IHSA Class 3A State runner-up as a junior… ran a season best 400m time of 50.88 during junior season… during shortened indoor senior season posted a season best 400m time of 53.12…

Jason Miller (Carpentersville, Ill. – Dundee-Crown HS) – Competed in track at Dundee-Crown HS… ran sprints earning a trip to the IHSA Class 3A State Championships as a member of the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams during junior year… ran opening leg on 4x100 relay team that earned a bronze medal at the state meet with a finals time of 42.20… ran the anchor leg on the 4x200 relay team that placed fourth in the state with a finals time of 1:27.76… as a sophomore reached the IHSA Championships in the 200m dash with a finals time of 22.63 after finishing second in the St. Charles North Sectional…

Jahleel Perrin (Lincolnshire, Ill. – Stevenson HS) – Competed in track at Lincolnshire HS… ran sprints at Stevenson HS… also competed for TNT Track & Field Academy Club advancing to the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships in the 100m, 200m and 4x100 relay events… season best 100m time was 10.98 while best 200m time was 22.08… during junior year was sixth in the 200m at the Illinois Top Times Indoor Class AAA Championships…

Za'Quan Singleton (Millville, N.J. – Iowa Central JC) – Transfer from Iowa Central JC competing during two indoor track seasons and one outdoor season… advanced to two NJCAA Indoor National Championships in the triple jump with a collegiate best indoor triple jump mark of 45'8"… placed 15th in the triple jump at the 2019 Indoor NJCAA National Championships… was 16th at the NJCAA Outdoor National Championships in the triple jump in 2019… also competed in the 60m hurdles (indoors) and 110m hurdles (outdoors) during JUCO career… was a prep athlete at Millville HS in Millville, N.J… reached the New Jersey Group 4 State Championships in several events during high school career in both indoor and outdoor track…

Sebastian Swistak (Mt. Prospect, Ill. – Mt. Prospect HS) – Competed in throws at Mt. Prospect HS… advanced to the IHSA Class 3A State Championships in the shot put during junior season… placed fourth at the Niles Sectional with a season best shot put mark of 53'10"… posted a season best discus throw of 146'1" during junior campaign… during shortened 2020 indoor season had a season best shot put mark of 52'1.50"…

Cameron Yarbrough (Chicago, Ill. – St. Laurence HS) – Competed at St. Laurence HS… ran sprints earning a trip to the IHSA Class 2A State Championships during sophomore year as a member of the 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams… during junior year indoor season ran the anchor leg on 4x200 relay team that placed third at the Illinois Top Times Class AA Indoor Championships with a time of 1:34.34… during shortened 2020 indoor season posted three top three finishes in indoor sprint events… during the summer of 2020 posted a second place finish in the 200m with a time of 22.78 at the Chicago Sprints & Jumps Meet…

Victor Cameron (Crete, Ill. – Crete-Monee HS) – Competed in track at Crete-Monee HS helping team win IHSA Class 3A State Title as a junior… advanced to the state meet in the 110m and 300m hurdles and as a member of the 4x100 relay… was the state champion as a junior in the 110m hurdles winning the finals race with a time of 13.93 after a season best time of 13.86 in the state prelims… won bronze in the 300m hurdles and was the Bloom Township Sectional Champion with a season best time of 38.45… ran opening leg on state champion 4x100 relay team that won with a time of 41.12… competed in the 2019 New Balance Nationals Outdoor meet in the 110m hurdles, 4x100 relay, 4x200 relay and 4x400 relay… as a junior was the 60m hurdle champion at the Illinois Top Times Indoor Class AAA State Championships… placed third in the state championship meet as a sophomore in the 110m hurdles…

Sergio Castro (Arlington Heights, Ill. – Rolling Meadows HS) – Competed in track at Rolling Meadows HS… competed in the 100m and 200m sprint events running both events at the York Sectional as a junior… season best 100m time was 11.25 while season best 200m time was 23.16… during shortened 2020 indoor season posted a first place finish in the 55m dash while also competing in the 60m and 200m sprints…

Daquane Lee (Decatur, Ill. – Lincoln College) – Transfer from Lincoln College having competed for two indoor seasons and one outdoor season at the junior college level… ran the 100m and 200m sprint events while also competing in the long jump… best 100m time was 11.88 while best 200m time was 24.52… posted a 60m top time of 7.48 during indoor competition… best long jump mark was 18'1"… ran track at Decatur MacArthur HS competing in sprints and the long jump…
