Eastern Illinois opens up a busy stretch of games as the Panthers are scheduled to play six games over the next two weeks as make-up games with SIUE have been slotted in for the next two Tuesdays.Ā The first of those make-up games takes place this Tuesday, Jan. 26 as the Panthers will host the Cougars in a make-up from the Jan. 5 postponement.Ā EIU is currently playing short handed due to a rash of injuries and COVID-19 protocols with only eight players available in Saturday's loss at Tennessee State.Ā EIU fell to 5-10 overall, 2-6 in the OVC as the Panthers lost their fifth straight game.Ā SIUE played on Thursday night for the first time in 34 days and split their two games in Nashville to stand at 4-5 overall, 2-1 in the OVC.
ABRAHAM FINISHES WITH A CAREER HIGHĀ
Freshman guard
Henry Abraham made his first career start for Eastern Illinois on Thursday night at Belmont finishing with eight points, two assists and a steal in 29 minutes of action.Ā On Saturday at Tennessee State, Abraham played a season high 33 minutes and responded with a season high 12 points as he knocked down four 3-pointers.Ā Abraham has made two or more 3-pointers in a game in four straight contests and has two double figure scoring nights this season after 11 points in early December at Green Bay.Ā Ā
PANTHERS PLAY LINE-UP SHUFFLE AGAIN
Eastern Illinois played with its tenth starting line-up in 15 games this season on Saturday at Tennessee State as
Barlow Alleruzzo IV became the ninth different player to start at least one game this season.Ā Ā Due to injuries and COVID-19 protocols, EIU had only eight players available at TSU as only
Marvin Johnson and
George Dixon have now appeared in all 15 games this season for EIU.Ā This season the Panthers have only played with the same starting line-up in back-to-back games three times, with a streak of three games the longest with one line-up.
