LOUISVILLE, KY -- Eastern Illinois Men's Soccer was defeated 5-0 in a road contest against the Louisville Cardinals on Tuesday evening. With the loss, the Panthers drop to 1-8-1 on the season.
The Panthers were able to keep the Cardinals off the scoreboard early, until Louisville's Pedro Fonseca found the back of the net in the 17th minute. Louisville scored two more goals in the first half to take a 3-0 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Cardinals then found the back of the net two more times in the second half to seal the win.
Louisville outshot EIU 17-2, including a 9-0 advantage in shots on goal. The Cardinals also held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Lenni Kirschner each took one shot for the Panthers.Â
Up next, the Panthers will return to Summit League conference play as they take on Kansas City on the road on Saturday, October 16. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm.
