Eastern Illinois head softball coach Tara Archibald has added another player to the Panthers roster for the 2023 season with the announcement that junior college outfielder Aryn Henke will be joining the Panthers roster.

Henke was a leadoff hitter and centerfielder in 2021 playing at John A. Logan College where she helped lead the team to NJCAA National Tournament.   She led the team with a .435 batting average scoring 63 runs with an on-base percentage of .493.  Henke earned first team All-GRAC honors and was a second team All-Region selection  She added 61 RBI, 21 stolen bases, 18 doubles and 12 home runs during the season while being named to the All-Region 24 Tournament Team.

"We are so excited to welcome Aryn to our program!  She is a gritty competitor and proven winner," said Archibald.   "I love watching her run down balls in the outfield and her combination of power and speed as a lefty hitter will fit in well with our offensive approach here at EIU.  Aryn has played for a tremendous coach, Taylor Seifert, at JALC so I know she will come in prepared to help us compete for championships."

Henke played high school ball at Columbia (Ill.) High School in 2017-2018 where she was named All-Conference and All-Metro throughout her career and led Columbia HS to a Regional Championship both years.

She is the fourth player to sign with the Panthers this fall joining high school players Daleny Chumbley (LHP / INF), Kendall Grover (INF) and Avary Makarewicz (C / UT).
