TULSA, Okla. - Eastern Illinois (0-2-1, 0-2 Summit) fell in the final moments of overtime to the Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts (4-0, 2-0 Summit), 2-1.
Alejandro Lurbe scored his first goal as a Panther in the 67th minute of play.
Jonathan Burke recorded a career-high ten saves against the Golden Eagles. The Panthers will host Kansas City for the first home game of the year on Thursday, March. 4, at 1 p.m.

FROM THE KICK
The Panthers spent most of their time defending the Golden Eagles in the first half. The Panthers managed two shots, one on goal, in comparison to the six shot attempts from Oral Roberts, three of which were on goal. Burke showed why he is one of the top keepers in the Summit, as she kept the Golden Eagles from scoring while recording three saves in the first half of play. Lurbe took the first shot for the Panthers;
Reed Axthelm took the other.Â
In the second half, the Panthers were able to take five shots, including the goal from Lurbe.
Chad Hamler found Lurbe in stride to set up the goal. The Panthers held the Golden Eagles through most of the second half, but Oral Roberts continued to find positioning on the offensive side. After a constant attack, Reed Berry found Dante Brigida on a breakaway who kicked it past Burke. The Panthers and Golden Eagles headed into overtime.
Jonathan Burke continued to anchor the defense for the Panthers in overtime, recording three saves in the first overtime period. The Golden Eagles managed five shots and tired the Panthers out, but EIU stayed resilient.
Lenni Kirschner managed the Panthers' lone shot in the period off some nifty footwork, but Miles Motakef, the ORU goalkeeper, kept the attempt from the back of the net. In the second overtime,
Julian Smith found a great look at the goal, but Motakef laid out to take the game-winner away from the Panthers. At nearly the 107th minute of play, Golden Eagles midfielder, Vinicius Oliveria, scored the winning goal off assists from Brigida and Juan Arias.Â
