MID-WEEK BASEBALL
Eastern Illinois (4-3) will travel to Louisville, Ky., to face the Atlantic Sun's very own, Bellarmine Knights. The Panthers are coming off of an incredible offensive series against the Arkansas Little Rock Trojans. The Panthers put up a combined 34 runs in three games, including a 17-1 game two win that finished in seven innings. Bellarmine (0-3) has not played since Feb. 21, when they faced No. 6 Louisville.

ON THE MOUND
Hayden Birdsong is expected to start the first game for the Panthers. This will be the freshman's first start for the Panthers after appearing in relief twice. Birdsong has pitched 4.2 innings thus far and has allowed seven hits. The Knights will start the lefty, Shane Barringer. Barringer has started in one game this season against Louisville. In the game, he allowed six hits, five runs, four earned, and struck out five.

THE LINEUP
The Panther bats had been working hard this season. Logan Eickhoff has had a phenomenal start to the season. The lead-off man is leading the OVC in total hits with 12. Dalton Doyle, Grant Emme, and Trey Sweeney each have three doubles this season, which is tied for second in the OVC. Sweeney is also tied for the most home runs in the OVC with two, and is ranked 20th in the nation with ten total runs so far. Eickhoff, Doyle, Sweeney, Ryan Knernschield, and Dane Toppel are all hitting above .300 this season.

UP NEXT
The Panthers will travel to Manhattan, Kan., to face the Wildcats of Kansas State. The Wildcats are 5-2 this season, tying them for second place in the Big 12.
