MILWAUKEE – Eastern Illinois men's tennis played with an adjusting line-up on Saturday afternoon as the Panthers lost 7-0 to Big East member Marquette.

Leighton Brandon slid up to play at No. 1 singles for the Panthers and challenged in the opening set before losing to Fran San Andres 7-5, 6-1.

Charles Courteau had their match at No. 3 doubles left unfinished after Marquette opened doubles play quickly winning No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to take the first point.

EIU had competitive matches from
Thomas Wallace and
Cameron Slabbert at the bottom portion of its line-up.

Wallace played at No. 5 singles and challenged in the opening set before falling 7-6, 6-2 to Nikola Kijac.

Slabbert played at No. 6 singles and lost the opening set 6-3 to Ian Brady and battled in the second set before falling 7-6.

Marquette improved to 5-4 on the year. EIU fell to 2-7 as the Panthers open Ohio Valley Conference play next week.
