OMAHA, Neb. - Eastern Illinois (0-6-2, 0-5-2 Summit) fell 2-0 in today's match against the Omaha Mavericks (5-1-0, 4-1-0 Summit). The Panthers managed five shots, three on goal, but couldn't find the back of the net to get on the board.Â

A penalty kick spelled disaster early for the Panthers, as UNO took the 1-0 lead in the 11th minute of play. The Panthers could only muster up one shot, which came from
Kevin Lanham but was saved by UNO.Â
In the second half, Omaha struck again in the 57th minute of play to grow the lead to 2-0. The Panthers managed to take a few shots that were on goal in the final few moments of play, but the Mavs goalkeeper was able to keep EIU from coming back. The Panthers fell to Omaha 2-0. Eastern Illinois will next face Devner for a two-game series starting on Thursday, April 1, at Lakeside Field in Charleston, Ill.
