MURRAY, Ky. – Eastern Illinois women's tennis won the final three singles matches on Saturday afternoon as the Panthers picked up their first Ohio Valley Conference win of the season with a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over Murray State.Â

Trailing 3-1 in the match, EIU cut into the lead with a win by
Rachel Papavasilopoulos at No. 1 singles as she beat Sara Loncarevic, 6-3, 7-5.Â

Elizaveta Bukraba-Ulanova then evened the match score at 3-3 as she beat Stasya Sharapova at No. 2 singles winning the second set by a tie break, 6-4, 7-6 (8-6).

In the deciding contest of the match freshman
Addison Brown won the third set over Anja Loncarevic at No. 5 singles to hand EIU the victory.  Brown won 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4.

EIU opened the match with the doubles point as they won at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Bukraba-Ulanova teamed with
Lauren Ellis to win 6-3 at No. 1 doubles. Brown teamed with
Christine Gouws to win at No. 3 doubles, 6-3.

The regular season wraps up this week for EIU women's tennis with the Panthers playing at Western Illinois on Tuesday before hosting UT Martin and Southeast Missouri next weekend.Â
