MOREHEAD, Ky. - Eastern Illinois baseball (18-17, 8-10 OVC) fell in seven innings to the Morehead State Eagles (18-13, 8-4 OVC), 14-4. The game was called early due to the run rule. This game does not count toward the OVC record.
Kyle Lang's record falls to 3-1 after allowing three runs in the first inning.
GAME FOUR
The Panthers found themselves in a 9-0 deficit heading into the fifth inning.
Trey Sweeney started ripped a single through the right side. After advancing to second on a wild pitch,
Ryan Knernschield followed with a single of his own to score Sweeney and give the Panthers the first score of the game.Â
The Panthers started a rally in the seventh, started by a
Lucas DiLuca walk. Sweeney hit a no-doubt homer over the right-field wall to add to the Panthers' run total. Knernschield drew a walk, followed by a
Christian Pena hit single to put runners on first and second.
Chase Rademacher singled up the middle to score another run to cap off the three-run seventh inning.
The Panthers fell in seven innings to the Eagles 14-4.
