DECATUR, Ill. – Eastern Illinois women's tennis picked up a 9-0 win over Millikin on Wednesday afternoon as the Panthers posted their third win of the season.
Playing in a format with all three doubles matches counting as single points, EIU won all three with the No. 3 doubles featuring
Ashlee Shinabery and
Brittany Steven winning with a tiebreak at 8-7 (7-5) that put EIU up in the match 3-0.
In singles action, EIU swept all six singles matches in two sets. Steven had a dominant win at No. 3 singles winning 6-0, 6-0.
Christine Gouws won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles with her win clinching the match to put EIU up 5-0 at the time.
Addison Brown picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles.
Elizaveta Bukraba-Ulanova (No. 1 singles),
Lauren Ellis (No. 5 singles) and Shinabery (No. 6 singles) closed out the win.
