CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois women's soccer closed out its fall exhibition slate on Sunday afternoon with an 11-0 win over Parkland College. The Panthers scored in each of the three 30-minute segments (pre-determined) having all three goalkeepers see time on the field.
To start the match head coach
Jake Plant played some of the newer faces on the EIU roster with sophomores
Serra Pizano and
Karima Rangel each scoring in the first 30-minutes to put EIU up 2-0. Pizano scored in the 24th minute followed by Rangel's goal in the 29th minute.
In the middle portion of the contest, EIU extended its lead to 5-0 with
Nicoletta Anuci scoring a pair of goals in the 34th and 50th minute. Those two goals sandwiched a score by
Megan Kenny in the 45th minute.
In the final 30-minutes,
Michaela Danyo broke loose for several fast break opportunities and made the most of those chances finishing with four goals. Danyo scored in the 62nd, 71st, 73rd and 80th minute. Pizano added her second goal of the match in the 65th minute while
Avery Richardson capped the scoring in the 84th minute.
EIU finished the match with 32 total shots including 18 on goal. Izzy Fritz had the lone Parkland College shot.
