EVANSTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois men's soccer played to a 1-1 regulation draw with Northwestern on Monday afternoon as the Panthers played the first of two exhibition matches this fall.
 
The two schools then settled the draw on penalty kicks with EIU edging the Wildcats 6-4.
 
In the penalty kick phase Landon Dove made two saves in goal while Chad Smith added one save.
 
EIU's goal in the match was scored by Shady Omar with an assist by William Bruce.
 
The Panthers will host UIC on Saturday to wrap up exhibition play with a 3 p.m. contest at Lakeside Field.
