MADISON, Wis. - Eastern Illinois women's soccer wrapped up a tough weekend of action on the road on Sunday afternoon with a 5-0 loss at Wisconsin.
The Panthers opened the weekend with a double overtime scoreless draw on Friday evening at Purdue Fort Wayne as EIU is now 1-2-1 on the season. Wisconsin improved to 3-1.Â
In the match at Wisconsin the Badgers defense limited EIU to only one shot in the entire match, that coming off the foot of
Karima Rangel.
Wisconsin scored three goals in the opening half with what proved to be the match winner coming in the 8th minute by Natalie Viggiano. That was the first of two goals in the contest for Viggiano as she scored the Badgers fourth goal in the 52nd minute.
Wisconsin added goals by Emma Jaskanier (17th minute), Jenna Kiraly (37th minute) and Joyelle Washington (72nd minute). Â
EIU rotated a number of players on to the pitch on Sunday with 18 field players seeing playing time in the contest.Â
