CHARLESTON, ILL -- Eastern Illinois Men's Soccer took a 1-0 loss to the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons on Friday afternoon action at Lakeside Field. The loss drops the Panthers to 0-2 on the season.
The Mastodons' Keith Larson scored the match's lone goal in the 17th minute, with an assist by Emil Fossee. The two teams went scoreless in the second half, with the Panthers registering four shots for the half to Purdue Fort Wayne's one.
The Panthers outshot the Mastodons eight to five overall, including a four to two advantage in shots on goal, but were unable to capitalize on the opportunities given to them.
Maxwell Allen led the Panthers with four shots, including three shots on goal.

Shady Omar, and
Jonas Castelhano also each registered a shot for EIU. Omar had the other shot on goal for the Panthers.
EIU will next host the Northern Illinois Huskies on Tuesday, September 7. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 pm.
