MUNCIE, Ind. – Eastern Illinois men's tennis played its second match of the spring season and for the second straight match had several players play competitive matches in a loss on the road.

On Friday afternoon the Panthers lost 7-0 at Ball State to fall to 0-2 on the season. EIU had lost last week in its season opener at Big Ten member Michigan State.  Ball State moved to 1-0.

In singles play
Thomas Wallace pushed his match at No. 5 singles to three sets losing 6-4, 3-6, 11-9 to Eli Herran. Â

Leighton Brandon playing at No. 1 singles,
Christos Kyrillou at No. 2 singles and
Pau Riera at No. 4 singles all lost in two sets but pushed one of the two sets to a 6-4 score before the loss.

Brandon and Riera played at No. 1 doubles with Wallace and Kyrillou paired at No. 2 doubles for EIU.Â

EIU's No. 3 doubles team of
Charles Courteau and
Max Pilipovic-Kljajic were leading their doubles match 5-4 when it was left unfinished as Ball State clinched the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
