MUNCIE, Ind. – Eastern Illinois women's tennis opened the season on Saturday afternoon as the Panthers lost a road match at Ball State.
 
Ball State won 7-0 in the contest.   EIU returns to action on Sunday afternoon playing at Illinois.
 
Ball State won all three matches in doubles play to grab the early lead in the match.  Playing at No. 2 doubles Christine Gouws and Elizaveta Bukraba-Ulanova lost in a closely contested match falling 6-4. 
 
EIU's No. 1 doubles team of Rachel Papavasilopoulos and Brittany Steven lost 6-3. 
 
In singles action, Bukraba-Ulanova battled at No. 2 singles losing 7-6 (4), 7-5.
