MILWAUKEE – Eastern Illinois men's tennis continued its weekend road swing as the Panthers played the second of three weekend matches. On Saturday EIU faced North Dakota in a neutral site match in Milwaukee. North Dakota won 7-0.
North Dakota jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the match winning the doubles point with wins in all three doubles matches. EIU battled in the No. 3 doubles pairing with
Charles Courteau and
Max Pilipovic-Kljajic losing 7-5 in their set.
In singles action, EIU had to shift up the bottom portion of its line-up with singles players three through six all moving up one spot in the order.
Leighton Brandon lost a tough two set match at No. 1 singles falling 7-5, 6-4 to Gerhard Sullwald.
Christos Kyrillou lost a tough match at No. 2 singles with a 7-6 (5), 6-1 set back to Edmond Aynediian.
EIU fell to 0-6 on the season and will face Marquette on Sunday. North Dakota is now 2-2 after beating both Marquette and EIU during the weekend.
