MILWAUKEE – Eastern Illinois men's tennis had wins in two singles matches and battled in a third during a 5-2 loss on Sunday afternoon at Marquette that wrapped up a weekend trip with three matches in three days.
Christos Kyrillou won at No. 2 singles for EIU beating Tin Krstulovic 6-3, 6-2.
Thomas Wallace won his third singles match of the season winning at No. 6 singles with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Will Tennison.
Kyrillou and Wallace paired at No. 2 doubles and were tied at 5-5 when their match was left unfinished following Marquette wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to clinch the point.
Pau Riera battled in a two set loss at No. 4 singles. Riera lost 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 to Jan Jauch.
EIU fell to 0-7 on the season and will return to action Feb. 11. Marquette improved to 3-2 on the season.
