MILWAUKEE – Eastern Illinois women's tennis wrapped up a weekend of three road matches in three days with a Sunday contest at Marquette.
The Panthers pushed their singles matches at No. 1 and No. 4 singles to three sets but could not pick up a win against the Golden Eagles losing 7-0.
Rachel Papavasilopoulos played at No. 1 singles for the Panthers losing in three sets to Natalija Popovic. Popovic won 5-7, 6-4, 11-9.
Addison Brown played at No. 4 singles for EIU losing in three sets to Tiana Windbuchler. Windbuchler won 6-2, 3-6, 14-12.Â
Marquette opened the match winning the doubles points with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. The No. 2 doubles match was left unfinished with EIU's doubles team of Brown and
Christine Gouws trailing 4-3 when it was left unfinished.Â
EIU fell to 0-5 on the season and will play at Milwaukee on Feb. 6. Marquette moved to 3-3.
