As the Ohio Valley Conference celebrates its 75th anniversary this academic year, we look back at Eastern Illinois part in that history each Tuesday.
Ta'Kenya Nixon helped lead EIU women's basketball to a pair of OVC regular season championships and four straight post-season appearances during her time on the court. Nixon was a four-time first team All-OVC selection finishing as EIU's career leading scorer with 1,924 points. She was twice named the OVC Defensive Player of the Year. As a senior she helped EIU win its first-ever Division I post-season game with a road win in the Women's NIT at Missouri.
