CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois men's tennis rolled to a 7-0 win over Saint Francis on Saturday afternoon as the two teams played a non-conference match in the Lantz Indoor Fieldhouse. EIU won all three doubles matches and then posted wins in all six singles matches in two sets.
EIU improved to 2-14 on the season while Saint Francis fell to 2-11.
EIU won all three doubles contests with
Tyler Carlin and
Max Pilipovic-Kljajic clinching the doubles points for the Panthers with their 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play EIU would win the match with wins in the top three singles positions.
Leighton Brandon would pick up the deciding win at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Sebastian Bahamondes.
Christos Kyrillou and
Cameron Slabbert secured the first two singles points with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles.
The Panthers would close out the 7-0 win with victories by
Thomas Wallace at No. 6 singles,
Pau Riera at No. 5 singles and Wallace at No. 6 singles.
EIU returns to action on Sunday afternoon with a match at No. 23 Notre Dame.
