SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Eastern Illinois men's tennis wrapped up its weekend of competition with a match at No. 23 Notre Dame. The Panthers would fall in the match to the Irish, 6-0.
Notre Dame would clinch the doubles point winning all three doubles contests. EIU would lose at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles by a 6-3 score with Charles Courteau and Cameron Slabbert playing at No. 2 doubles. Tyler Carlin and Max Pilipovic-Kljajic played at No. 3 doubles for EIU.
In singles play, Notre Dame would win all six singles maches in two sets.
Carlin was competitive at No. 5 singles with his match against Jameson Corsillo left unfinished due to darkness. Corsillo was leading 6-4, 4-2 in the second when the match was called.
Slabbert would fall at No. 3 singles to Matthew Che losng 6-2, 6-2.
Christos Kyrillou lost at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-3.
EIU had opened the weekend with a 7-0 win over Saint Francis (Ill.) as EIU is now 2-15 on the season. Notre Dame moved to 13-6.
