CHAMPAIGN, Ill. –  Eastern Illinois women's tennis wrapped up its opening weekend of Ohio Valley Conference action with a tough 5-2 loss to UT Martin on Saturday afternoon at the Atkins Tennis Center.
UT Martin jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the match winning the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.  The Panthers No. 1 doubles team of 
Addison Brown and 
Christine Gouws was leading 4-3 with the match left unfinished when the Skyhawks clinched the point.
Rachel Papavasilopoulos would even the match at 1-1 with her two set win at No. 1 singles over Julie Streif.  Papavasilopoulos won 6-4, 6-1.
UT Martin would win the next four points in the match with wins at the bottom of the playing order.  The Skyhawks would post two set wins at No. 3, 4, 5 and 6 singles.
EIU would pick up the final point of the match with a three set win by 
Elizaveta Bukraba-Ulanova at No. 2 singles.  Bukraba-Ulanova beat Sina Albersmeier 3-6, 7-5, 10-4 to win her second singles match of the weekend. 
EIU fell to 2-14 overall, 0-2 in the OVC.  UT Martin improved to 2-12 overall, 1-1 in the OVC.
